In the second episode of Office Hours with Gary, SEC Chair Gary Gensler talks about cryptocurrencies. While the SEC should be technology-neutral, we are not neutral on investor protection. Crypto trading platforms, crypto lending platforms, don't have the same level of investor protection that you've come to expect buying and selling stocks on a stock exchange, or investing in a mutual fund or 401k. At the heart of finance is trust and trust rests on investor protection. So that's what the SEC has to do with crypto: Investor protection.
